I've raised this before elsewhere in the past with differing opinions...

They both have their pros and cons and some folk don't bother either way as they will be gone anyway, but I'll be opting for burial because when I'm gone at least my shell will still be in the ground when my kids visit my grave rather than my entirety go up in smoke!

This is the more expensive option though and many people prefer cremation as its a cleaner, cheaper method which also ensures preservatives like Formaldehyde don't seep into the ground...

I also think that some folk's cremated remains are mixed...I know a good crematorium wouldn't do that deliberately but there must still be tiny amounts of ashes which do get left behind and mixed with others in the oven.

I understand different religions forbid either burial or cremation.

Anyway , this is just my take and we all have different views and opinions , so let hear them!

I prefer cremation. No need to bury my body taking up space on this beautiful Earth we call home. :]

Good point!

But then it can be said we should surrender our bodies to this earth we hail from!

My vote has been cast! I prefer not to discuss it. Though I voted what I would I do. 🙂

I want to be put in a darth vader outfit and sat on a pile of sticks like in the movie.

Neither.

I'd much prefer to have my body donated to science and medicine; organs especially. In the case of the latter, they could very well end up saving another life. We have too few organs in circulation as it is right now, with many of those in need of a new organ simply waiting around, hoping they find a donor to save their life.

In the case of the former, if I am to die, I much prefer knowing that my body go towards scientific/medical advancement and help humanity as a whole as opposed to simply being disposed of or thrown in the dirt. A waste of resources and space, if you ask me.

Even if my body doesn't play any such grandiose role (ending up as an intern's playtoy or some such), I still prefer the outcome that it has the potential to do something good.

After all, it's not as though I need it anymore. Once I part from my life, it's little more than a heap of flesh and bone.

I would pick burial, out of shear personal preference. I think a cremation sounds disguising. I wouldn't like to have my body as ashes for the rest of eternity.

I personally, want to if I had enough money at being dead (and this is hopefully in the future when space exploration is even more awesome) get my dead body or ashes shot at the sun.

Upon my death, I want my family to cremate me in the backyard and leave me there. This way they save money.

Would definitely depend on the people whom I left behind. But if I were to decide for a loved one, I would choose the practical method depending on the circumstances.
