What suggestions would you offer to improve the design of the home page of http://www.businessadviceforum.com ?

Is there anything about the forum that strikes you as being unprofessional on first visit?

I always thought that symbols for the various forums and categories would suit your forum Fergal.

Looks pretty good, though would I suggest new custom icons?

On an unrelated note, did you get rid of all instances of border-radius?

Well for me, makes me look away when i visit a serious forum like yours and does not run phpBB.

Not sure why i am like that but it still lookg VERY professional and looks very good.

I must say it looks nice. Like Zabra said, it looks professional which suits your forum's genre.

All I can think of is the icons, but that's already been suggested.
