Buying a Facebook page

What if you found a Facebook page (with many followers and likes) that was the exact niche for your forum or blog. Would you make an offer to purchase the Facebook page from it's owner? Is this possible? And, do you think it would be a good promotion tool to get more traffic/members to your own forum?

Yeah you can purchase FB pages I believe, seen some people do it before. It would have to be special enough for me to care enough... I don't really pay attention to FB.

I see no point in buying a Facebook page, I think it is a waste of money.
