I know it's a morbid thread, but I'm old, so give me a break 😀

When I was a little girl, a lot of my family members decided to buy their grave plots at the cemetery where most of our family was buried. They got some nice spots at the time and my dad got into the VA section which is now filled. He's still alive, but it's a joint plot and my mom is buried there. My dad has 2 other plots (in case my sister or I died when we were younger) that he is checking on to see if someone stole them. It happens. I think I'll just have him give them to my sister since we have more money than she does and even though I keep bringing it up about preparing for dying, my husband isn't ready for that chat. I'm a 2 time cancer survivor, so I think about the planning more than he does.

Do you have a plot already bought? Any other things prepared for burial?

My grandmother wants to be buried in the same plot as her late husband, she leased (it's not a forever thing here) an extra large one when he passed. I don't have one for me. I have nothing with gravesites, my late mother is buried (after cremation, so it's burial of an urn in perhaps a square meter) because my grandmother wanted a place to go to - it kinda was a compromise. I hope after I die, that my kids will just avoid the whole mess of having to clean it up etc. and cremate & strew out my ashes. I already told them that for me that was fine, but of course, after you die it's their choice.

I've left specific instructions to be taken away by the undertaker and cremated. If people want to get hammered and throw my ashes somewhere that's fine with me.

A lot of people in the UK subscribe to funeral plans and worry that there won't be enough money left in their estate to pay for their chosen method of disposal. I find that rather sad. Better to blow the cash on something enjoyable while you are still living in my opinion.

With the lack of money I end up being eating by pigs

I already have a gravesite and a written will with funeral plan. I remember when one of my cousins died young, it caused a lot of family issue just with people arguing over what he would have wanted. I don’t want my family to stress that at all, and if the unfortunate were to happen, I already have a plan in place.

Well now, this is an unusual answer.

Jordan gets his free with the military. Me on the other hand don't. I'm going to be cremated and put in the casket with him.
