Cable Modems @ not in use = Turn off?

Should we turn off our cable modems when not in use?

During the day not in use with pc on, turn the modem on or off?
During the night not in use with pc of, turn the modem on or off?

Doesn't really matter. If you are in serious need of saving energy or if there is some requirement, turn it off when needed.

Mine stays on unless it malfunctions.

I guest you can unplug your cable modem and router if you are very serious about saving electricity.

From my experience, there isn't an off switch. You either have to turn off your power strip/bar or unplug the modem.
