Giving a stranger admin / ftp / cpanel access to your forum in order to convert it is a risky thing to do.

At the end of the day, it all boils down to personal preference. You really can't please everyone, you have to go for your own instincts and go for what YOU think is best for your site.

You could make some test boards and practice converting. Its not a really hard process.

You should really learn to convert it yourself, how are you going to learn if you get people to do everything for you? Make a test forum, make some dummy posts/topics and then try converting it yourself. If it fails then no harm done, just try again until you get it right. Read and follow the instructions carefully.
