Is there any way to give another person access to my forum's cPanel? Or will I need to give them acres to the hosting account? I use freehostingnoads.net if that helps, though I might switch due to server hiccups I've had today.

The only way to give someone cPanel access on a shared hosting account is to give that person your credentials. That's why most of the time, people are very very careful with who they give those details to.

That is how I install plugins and styles, right? Or is there something else I use?

Well, cPanel is one way you can upload files that work with whatever software you want to use. The process varies from software to software, but cPanel will probably be involved at some point.

Thanks for the help.

I'm going to use phpBB once I switch hosting providers, that's why I'm asking. I'm switching because my current provider is glitching every time I load the statistics page, saying there's a server overload or something.

If you want tot give people access to upload and edit files you could make them a FTP account.

This is probably a good idea because you can limit their permissions to certain folders.

If you do give someone else your credentials, make sure they are trustworthy and take a backup of your site.

If you do use free hosting, I would recommend that you pick a post 2 host or a forum host that places ads on your site. That way the server owners are at least earning some revenue to pay for their costs.

Inorder to provide cPanel login credentials in shared platform, you should be very careful to the person you are providing the details. the one should be trustworthy . Better to have vps servers where you can provide logins to your clients separately.

I agree. You can't really give people access through that. However, if you have XenForo, there is an addon called "Install & Upgrade Addons" or something like that, which basically allows you to upload an entire archive with the xml file directly to the site through the ACP. I'm sure that there has to be addons like this for other forum software. You can do what Goldbanana said and just create a separate FTP account for them and only give them access to specific directories.
