I advertise my site, http://socialhut.net, on a whole lot of forums, I have my site dynamic signature in all of my signatures, I post what is going on in my community in the "What is going on" section on a lot of forums. My site has a lot of unique features and such, but my biggest question is...why do I have such low member count? This has always puzzled me! Can someone help me out? Thanks!
I actually clicked to your forum earlier today and my first impression was that your forum is doing quite well. You have almost 30,000 posts, so the first thing I would say is don't underestimate what you have achieved.
One thing that I actually find off putting about your forum is the "Register Now" banner that overlays the site header and stays on top of the screen when I scroll down the forum. Although perhaps other members will have a different opinion and feel that it is getting you some registrations?
Another suggestion I would make is that you might consider merging some of your individual forum sections. Some of your forums have quite low post counts and haven't had any posts for a few days. Merging some of them will make your community appear busier.
Thank you Fergal! I will see about removing the register now banner, and I have some plans to make a few changes to the forum structure, seeing that some of them are indeed not doing so well.
