Can't delete spam

Recently I've had some personal issues so I haven't been on my sites in a few weeks and on my forum @ LevelUnlocked some spam built up, but for some reason every time I go to delete all the posts I get this message:

Sorry, but no results were returned using the query information you provided. Please redefine your search terms and try again.

The posts are still there, why won't they go?

What forum board are you using? Are you sure your selecting the posts you want to delete?

I don't know what the problem was but I had to manually delete each post one by one to get rid of them, deleted hundreds of posts.
