Cant get users!

I'm sorry to say this, but I think this genre is fairly impossible to get into since there are already huge, established sites like Newgrounds, Kongregate, AddictingGames, ArmorGames, et cetera that have flash games. These sites are successful because they have users who develop unique flash games specifically for them. The only advice I have is to keep at it. There's a chance you won't have much success with this type of site, though.

Your site is actually really professional and looks great. The only thing you can do is wait, it will comes, forums and websites like this take a long time to get noticed and take off, but advertise as much as you can, link your site everywhere you go, tell your friends, email people, tell people on MSN, put ads on other sites.

Then all it takes is time, keep working on it.

Thank you both for the feedback. I understand there are those giant sites that already do this - though I do think my site is well put together (especially better then dumb AddictingGames and stuff), even though I do like how NewGrounds looks.

I do also understand the whole "unique" games thing - I am up to close to 500 games online, and I also CAN develop games, though I am fixing some little minor bugs and such. The thing is, not only is the arcade lacking some activity, so is the forums (any idea what to do about that? or does anyone want to do an exchange of active with active or something to help me get the forums going?)

I have been working soooo hard on this website, there are so much custom stuff and unique stuff it's not even funny, yet I still can't get it that boost to get going 🙁

I would post on other gaming forums and such with your site in your signature. Work on SEO and use anchor text to help google target under which keywords you should be listed.

It's a long road with a genre like that but if you make it you can really have an active community.

SEO is all good, I optimized my site very well and did the good techniques used by major SEO companies (as I am a web designer). The hardest part for me, with any and all my websites, is getting actual members to the site. 🙁

Make a game that maybe many many people will love to play. Then see how it goes.

Going about this the wrong way really, you're missing out on a huge amount of people. Think about the schools, most block the major flash games sites... make yours known to students everywhere, a site they can get to from school and have fun. It'll be awhile before *every* school blocks you, so start advertising on FaceBook about a new site you can play on at school 🙂

Now that's actually a good idea. At least until a teacher sees it.

Along with what ghost said. There are many newsletter groups ( kinda like Proxy ones, that students subscribe to ). That are arcade based. If I were you I would try to get involved with some of them.

and where would I get to one of these newsletter groups?

Also thank you for the idea Ghost!

You really have a professional looking site with so many games.
my advice is wait sometime don't except results so quickly.

you just build the traffic they will slowly come and don't give up that much easily.

Best of luck for your site.

If this site isn't blocked at my school, i'll tell my friends to use this site to play games on 😉 looks very promising.

haha thanks, it has like 510+ games online now. And I add more every single day so yeah. thanks for the inspiration guys and the compliments on the template and such. The site is almost fully done so yeah I'll just keep posting updates and all the help I can get I thank you guys.

Try the word of mouth. I heard MiniClip from word of mouth, so that's always a good method. You tell 5 people and they tell another 5 and so on. Before you know it, you will have established quite a large fan base.

Trust me, I have been telling everyone I meet about it. Like, the weird part is, I have over 800 unique hits within this first month - yet the forum is dead which makes me feel the site is dead. =/
