Number Of Members: At the time of doing this review you had 17 members (16 minus the review account). Your forum seems to have been running from the 17 of September. I suppose the member count isn't that bad but it could and maybe should be a bit higher then it is. Getting the first few members is the hardest part so atleast you are past that so now your forum has a few members and some activity it should grow a bit faster from now on. (6/10)
Number Of Active Members: 6 of your 17 members have yet to posts while a further 4 has either posted once or twice. Combined this equals 10 of your 17 members not having posted more then 2 times on your forum which is over 60% of your members. This is not a good percentage even for a pretty new forum like yours. You do have quite a few high posters though although they are mainly staff with a few normal users getting into double figures although the number of what i would class as active members is 7 users which is pretty disappointing. In order to encourage users to post more you should start more topics so there is more discussions going and fill up some of the emptier sections. This would help make your forum look more active so people will take it more seriously and there will be more for them to post. Then to get some of the members active that aren't at the moment you could send out the occasional mass email and i will emphasis the word occasional. Do not send out a email more the once every 2 weeks i would say otherwise it would have the opposite effect and people will stay away from your forum as people tend to dislike emails from forums all the time so you need to do it so they think i might as well visit again but no too much that they say i hate that spamming forum so i will stay away. (4/10)
Number Of Posts (Spam or Otherwise): At the time of writing this review you have 302 posts on your forum. I think maybe this should be about 100 or 200 posts higher in my opinion and it is a bit low. Most of the posts have come from staff which is acceptable at this time as your forum is new. Best was to generate some posts is to get some good discussions started and debates as they usually generate a lot of posts when you get a few people that have different opinions. (5/10)
Appearance (First Impressions): I am going to be honest here. I absolutely hate proboards. I dislike the look of their software as a whole as i find it boring, boxy and outdated and i don't like the look of any proboard forum so it is not just yours. I can't help but think that if you use another forum software your forum might be a bit more active as alot of people do dislike proboards. Some people love it but alot of people don't. As for your forum itself i think the style is ok looking and the colours are al right although i think they are slightly a bit to bright and i could see my eyes hurting after a while. Also i am not a fan of the boxes on the left like the chat and so on. I dislike it when the forum gets squashed to the right to make way for boxes like that as it does make the forum smaller and it also messes up the alignment of the rest of the content like in your case the affiliate box looks weird (see screenshot) I find the chat to be bad to have as it slows down page load time and it also does take away activity from the forum as people talk in their rather then on the forum. Layout: I think the only problem you have with the layout is the boxes on the left of the forum (as mentioned above) and i think that the "Site" category should be first so users see the site information and rules first before they see the other sections otherwise they might start posting in the first couple of forums then scroll down and see the rules and the forum news. Other then that your layout is good! (16/20)
Moderation: You have a good number of staff for a forum your size and you shouldn't be looking for anymore. All your staff are active on the forum and seem to be doing a good job.(10/10)
Activity: It has enough activity to just get by and grow slowly but this is certainly an area that could be improved. It currently shows your last post as being Yesterday at 10:33 and i logged in at Today at 4:37am according to whatever your time zone is set too so that means that your forum has not had a post for over 6 hours and counting which you must admit doesn't look good. What you need to do is start topics and make some changes to make the forum look better then continue to promote and send out a mass email. Altogether this should build alot more activity. (3/10)
Spelling and Grammar: I have not seen any spelling or grammar issues on your forum so there is no problems there so i will give you full marks for that. -D- (10/10)
Overall Mark: I am sorry if this comes across as bad but i did mostly focus on the areas for improvement otherwise this review wouldn't be that good if i just said what was good about it as you wouldn't know what areas to improve. There are alot of good elements of the forum. It might be a good idea to take a look at the
Promotion Tricks forum which contains some more places and ways to advertise and also to check out my blog articles (
Guests - Part and
Guests - Part 2) as these might help you with ways to promote and encourage the people that visit to sign up to your forum. (60/100)
Good luck with your forum -
