Cape Verde is an African nation located on the northwest coast of Africa and has a mix of Creole, African, and European traditions, and the European culture was as a result of being colonized by Portugal.

The country is characterised by her citizens' interest in music, dance, and storytelling with genres such as funaná and morna dominating their music life.

The locals are specialists in traditional crafts and arts and make items like woven baskets.

Food in the country was a reflection of their history as they made African, Portuguese, and Brazilian dishes. Popular foods in Cape Verde are beans, maize, and fish often prepared with spices and coconut milk with a common one known as cachupa.

The people of Cape Verde are mostly Roman Catholics, while the minority are traditionalists displaying their roots in African beliefs and practices.

While Cape Verde is a peaceful nation where a democratic government exists, the country is faced with high employment and environmental challenges.

These challenges, however, don't make paying a visit to this African country a bad choice as the government invests enough resources to make it a tourist nation.
