I have no idea if this is the right place for this, but I'm going to place it here, & if it is in the wrong place, hopefully it'll get moved to the proper place. Before I get started with the issue, I'd like to mention I'm kind of computer ignorant, so yeah.
Okay, so I have a Gateway computer. I can't remember all the specifics of it, but it is a Gateway. My operating system is Windows 7. Whenever I used the Caps Lock or Number Lock keys as well as my volume keys (mute, volume up, or volume down), an on screen notification would pop up in the middle of the screen telling me what I'd just done. It's stopped working all of a sudden today. I have a cat, & sometimes he'll walk on the keyboard despite me telling him not to, so I'm not sure if it's a button he's pressed or what.

When in doubt, restart your computer. I turned my computer off & left it for the day while in classes, & I came home tonight, & the on screen indicators are back. I'll keep that link in mind if this issue happens again & restarting doesn't work.
