How much do those companies squeeze out of you each month? Is it mandatory where you live?

Considering I live in Arizona, there is a vast amount of individuals who can't or have illegally purchased insurance due to some..."reason"

It's most definitely mandatory throughout the whole of the UK and car insurance prices have risen extremely high this year, almost to the point of making it impossible to afford, no wonder there are many more motorist driving around illegally. 🙁

I'm not one of these people, I can't drive................😛

I'm eighteen years old, and I don't drive. Yeah. I'm a real winner. xD

Theres nothing wrong with been 39 my mums about say 36 or something. Also I don't drive, will be in about 2 - 3 years, but I say the insurance and petrol money will be hard to keep up.

Oh no, I don't mind being 39, I just don't like being 39 and saying I still can't drive 😛

My mum passed her test about six months ago, when my dad was still around I believe he was an under-age driver by one month at least. No need to worry.
My mum says the theory is pretty easy and I could probably do it and I have an IQ of 1 - 10, then about 7 weeks later she was racing down the streets. I could just imagine, you and all the FP staff cramped into your little car whenever you consider getting one of course.

I drive throw away cars (usually).. I call them that because I get a cheap one then I drive it til it breaks.
If I got in an accident I wouldnt care about it getting fixed.. I'd just get another cheap car.
If everyone was like me then we would not need to have this law. 😛

It doesn't work that way in the UK.....you have to have at least 3rd part insurance so that if you damage someone else's car they can claim against you, even if they have an old banger and so do you. Anyone who get injured by your car can also claim.

Thats how it works here but "3rd part insurance" is called "liability" or "PL & PD"

Along side the 3rd party insurance we also have to have a valid MOT test, (ministry of transport) to state that the vehicle is road worthy and we have to display a tax disc (various price depending on model of car).....still, even if the old banger is only worth £50.

Our cars have to pass a smog check / emissions test in order to be registered or re-registered. However insurance has nothing to do with that. You can insure an unregistered (or has expired registration) car that cant pass smog. You dont even have to have a valid drivers license to get insurance.

My goodness, you can't get anything without all the other paperwork, and if your car doesn't have tax then it has to be off the road in a garage or driveway. They have now made it more sneaky too, the national data base has a record of every car and it flags up if you are out of the required tax, you get a fine if it is so much as one minute out of date.

Well its very common for people to drive cars with expired registration or without a valid drivers license around here. Even though its illegal and the car will be impounded if caught, the state would rather have those cars insured if anything happens while they are driving those cars illegally.
