Cash MOD 1.0.0 Beta 1

Remember Handayman ` 's Cash MOD, that was known as 0.3.2 for literally months? Well i checked phpBB this morning to find he's finally upgraded it to 1.0.0 Beta 1.

The new features are impressive. It finally supports donations from one member to another, exchange rates between the different currencies you can set..and more flexibility on what members can earn cash for, (eg: posting topics, replies, attachments, voting, creating polls...)

Personally, i'm not going to install it as i have no need to, but i'd love to hear some feedback from someone who has ~cheesey_grin~

The only thing i do not like is that yu got to edit every forum's permissions to enable the cash MOD.

Would be nice if it was set as enabled by default.

Could be easily done with a quick SQL query in phpMyAdmin.
I'm amazed that he finally updated it for the first time in a year. (I'm dead serious, last time he updated it was July 2007.)
I may install this, but since I have another installed, I'll have to edit everyone's cash. ~neutral~

Too much bloat IMO - I prefer the simple points system mod which I think what is isntalled here, does what you need and very simple 😀

Yeah, but the author of simple points system removed the donation feature. Luckily, I still have the version with donation. I'll PM it to anyone who needs it.

Just follow the instructions, it's actually quite simple once you get over the weird feeling you get the first couple of installs 🙂

I do it £5 / hour, others do it for free, but you'll have to wait till a time it conveniences them.

Actually Handayman ` is a very good MOD author. He was only let down by the SEO Mod. Only reason it passed validation was because the MOD was installable, they didn't actually check to see if MODs actually worked.

All of his other MODs such as AJAX Chat, AJAX Quick edit and Cash MOD are brilliant ~smile~

Then you have to wait till they can be bothered, and for the cash mod it would take an hour...

..not too many will want to sacrifice an hour of their time for nothing.
