CCTV

Not unless they're aimed inside someone's window, in my opinion. If someone gets assaulted on the street corner I think it's in everyone's best interest for the police to have a video of the assault, so that they can better find the suspect, and also to help prove that anyone who doesn't match the person in the video isn't a suspect.

It really depends on where they are. If the police are installing them inside homes or other inappropriate places then, yes. Otherwise, it's a fairly reasonable crime fighting tool.

If a camera is placed in a place where someone could walk up and see with their own eyes (like your front yard or a parking lot, etc.) its not an invasion of privacy at all.

However, if a camera is placed inside/looking inside your house or another private place (like a backyard), that's another story.

No unless it is installed in private places like your house.

I don't think they are. As long as they are not within a residential community. If police want to put them there, they will have a vote with the community it will effect to be fair.
