I have ATT and at times my phone won't receive calls and it will go straight to voicemail. Sometimes the voicemail doesn't even get to my phone until the next day so I'm completely unaware. I've told my family if they can't reach me by calling to text me or message me on Facebook because that always works.

I don't have the capability to use Wi-Fi calling and I don't know if that's because ATT doesn't offer it in my area or if I need to have my husband call them to set it up...I'm not the "authorized user" on the account even though this phone is in my name.

So what things could be happening? I have some bars showing, I've turned my phone off and back on and all updates are done.

I switched to Android a few months ago and I have never missed more calls than I do now simply because the phone is awful at alerting me as a call is coming in. So, if you have Android too, I'd just blame it on that. 😀

I never get any god damn calls from anyone LOL other than data that I use every day. no one likes me 🙁

Okay I researched and found out that my carrier ATT shut off 3G and now a lot of people are having issues because of that. My phone is on their compatible list so that's not the problem, but my Sim card might need to be updated. I can't do that without my husband because he's the authorized user and they won't make any changes without him. We've tried authorizing me but they never follow through with it on their end.

Other people have reported that because they have an unlocked phone that wasn't purchased through ATT that THAT is the problem. My phone is unlocked and bought off Amazon.

This is not what I want to deal with right now when I'm trying to get some important calls to doctor offices and the insurance company right now.

Any progress with AT&T? From my experience, they have terrible customer service and always had a minimum of 20 minute wait. We switched from AT&T years ago and are now with Verizon. We still use them for internet only because we don't have any other option in my area currently. They should be able to just send you a new sim card so maybe you can get your husband to just speak with them? You could even 3-way him in maybe if he's not around you at the time you're taking care of all of this. Or are you having connection issues for calling out as well as receiving calls?

My phone had problems calling and receiving and sometimes it worked but mostly it was out.

We went into the ATT store and got a new sim card but the guy couldn't get it to activate because he said it kept coming up with an error. He handed me a new one and said I had to call ATT Support. We said we'll do that out in the parking lot and an hour later not even a supervisor could get the new card activated. They mentioned that it was my IMEI that was incorrect and they couldn't change it. The guy in the store had admitted to us before we walked outside that he even tried putting in a false one to get it to take and it didn't work.

We went back into the store while still on the line with support and they talked through some things and the guy decided to try to fudge my IMEI again by using most of the numbers of my husband's IMEI and changing the last 4 digits. That way, it would be recognized as a Google Pixel instead of a phone that wasn't on their approved list for 4G. It worked!!

The problem is that I now have an IMEI that isn't for my own phone and probably belongs to someone else. So when they go to register it they will get an error and someone will fudge their IMEI and it will go on and on.

But I have a working phone, won't get kicked off the system once they turn off all the 3G towers and can try to get a hold of my doctor's office on Monday since for 2 days they couldn't call me.
