change Hosts?

Is there a way to change hosts from freeforums.org to MyBB or SMF without completely destroying my site and having to start over? also is there another good and free forum host that is easy to transfer to?

I believe you can buy a database backup from FreeForums.org and then you can install a fresh phpBB3 forum on a webhost with that database and then convert it to whatever forum software you want.

Unfortunately, of all the remotely-hosted forums, there isn't a converter out of it.

Maybe if you talk to the wizard himself, he'll do something. He has direct-to-SMF converters, but you can go anywhere if you convert to phpBB 2.

the problem with that is getting the money. Is it easy to setup a paypal account and get money through that. or is there like a fee for having no money in it for a certain period of time? And I would also need either a bank account for that to work wouldnt i? is that easy to do for free?

No there isn't a fee for not having any money in there. you do need a bank account to verify but atm i have a paypal not verifyed but i can still buy stuff online but theres a limit

What do you mean? You don't have to have a verified account to make all transactions. Some places do require a verified account, but things like transferring money won't require a verified account.

I think there is a button for accepting unverified transfers, but could you please provide a screenshot of the situation? 🙂

Yes, but places like GoDaddy domains, and I think eBay won't allow unverified transfers for security reasons.

haha seems like my account was that old that i'm allowed to do it or something (its from '08)

Go and buy a prepaid credit card from walmart or something and attach it to your account and you can take the money from that card and buy a domain or whatever and it won't verify you but let you do stuff

You can hook it up to your debit card. If you want a post2domain, PM me. You can get donations to pay for domains/hosting too.
