How hard is it to change a laptop graphics card? I have a Toshiba A665 Satellite. It runs a Nvidia 330M but I want the ATI 5850 (It's a beast)

If I was you I would take it to a computer specialist to change any form of laptop parts and such; I have only ever done around 5 laptops and they are significantly more difficult than a desktop computer.

^ I agree

I open up my desktop on a daily basis but this laptop has some cheap parts (thanks Dell) and it just isn't as safe.

Some laptops have the videocard soldered/built-in to the motherboard, so you can't replace a videocard.

More expensive laptops have video cards which can be replace, but it is best for you to hire someone to replace the card for you since laptops are more hard to open and upgrade compared to a desktop.

I think that's a dedicated chip, so you should be able to change it.

Dedicated chips can be permanently attached to the motherboard. My desktops dedicated ATI chip is attached directly onto the motherboard.
