Regardless of views it is quite sad that he was killed at such a young age. I do feel sorry for his wive and kids.

I don't care what political party you are but killing someone who didn't do anything and was just talking to High School. I feel so sorry for his wife and 2 kids. 🙁 Praying for them. 🙏

Tragedy, especially for the kids. No one deserves to go out like that. Let's not even forget two very young daughters were there witnessing that.

I think the worst part of all of this is the insane divisiveness happening.

I've been speaking on political violence now for some time. Just a few month ago I made a fairly long post condemning political violence, and violence in general. I was told by conservatives, and I quote directly, it was “warranted”, “required”, or even “a tool for change”. I was told “violence is needed” and “almost always required”.

Now some of those same voices are condemning it and trying to call out anyone who doesn't. Clutching pearls. Which is it?

Principles shouldn't change with the target.

But now, you also have the liberals, who have always preached to end gun violence literally stating completely awful things that goes against everything what their so called beliefs stand for.

Both sides are showing massive hypocrisy, and it's sickening. (I'm not saying everyone is.)

Violence isn’t a debate tactic or a shortcut, it’s harm. If you only oppose it when it hits your side, you’re not defending peace; you’re defending a team. You're part of the problem. Not the solution.
No Exceptions. No Excuses.

I don't agree with the guy or his values, but what happened to him is truly tragic. Knowing his family was in the audience makes it worse.

My Facebook blew up with people saying they were unfriending people who were mourning Charlie Kirk and being empathetic about what happened to him, which I just think is wild. You don't necessarily have to be sad or upset about someone whose values you don't agree with or someone you really dislike dying, but you can still be empathetic about it; I saw a Facebook post that said something similar, and I think it's a mindset more people need to have. It's still tragic whether it happens to someone with values you don't agree with, and it's equally tragic when it happens to children who are simply trying to go to school and learn.

Speaking of which, apparently (another) school shooting happened the same day in Colorado, but I only remember seeing a couple posts about it on Facebook as I scrolled through, ironically shared by people who were outspoken about unfriending people who were upset about Charlie Kirk's death.

As others have mentioned - regardless of political views it is a terrible tradegy. He was murdered in cold blood, all because of his political and religious beliefs. Now his wife and two kids will have to be without them for the rest of their lives. It's a shame that this is what the world has come to these days.

The one thing that I respected about him is that he gave a floor for open debate. It didn't matter who you were, where you came from, he would let you give your point of view on any topic. It amazes me how much he impacted people around the USA and World.

I hope that his family can find peace, and hope that they are okay while trying to learn how to navigate the world without him now. May god bless his family.

Rest in Peace, Charlie Kirk.

This right here! I did not like Charlie Kirk's views, and he was doing more harm pushing a narrative of hate that lead to violence. However, Charlie absolutely did NOT deserve to be shot and murdered. No one does, but especially in front of your own family. It's disgusting and I feel bad for his family and children.

Violence is never the answer.
It's really sad that this was the boy's reasons.

The roommate of the suspect in the killing of Charlie Kirk had one question.

"Why?"

"I had enough of his hatred," Tyler Robinson wrote back. "Some hate can't be negotiated out."

On Tuesday, authorities released messages between Robinson and the roommate from the hours after the shooting. Officials have said the unnamed roommate was a "biological male" who was transitioning from man to woman and was in a romantic relationship with the defendant.

Prosecutors also gave further details that could point to a possible motive – although there is still much that is not known.

According to an indictment, Robinson's mother told police that over the last year or so, Robinson had become more political and left-wing, "more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented".

And in family conversations before the shooting, Robinson allegedly accused Kirk of spreading hate.

Prosecutors say Robinson left a message for his roommate: "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it."

I've been seeing a ton of false information about what Charlie Kirk has said in the past, and I really encourage more people to watch videos in full or to read transcripts in full. Plucking out parts can lead to pushing a lie that didn't exist.
