Hi Flannagan1992, I was curious about your forum so I decided to visit it and I like the fact that you don't have too many different categories because sometimes new forum administrators can make the mistake of having too many categories which makes the forum look overwhelming and also makes a new forum look dead.
That being said I also do have some suggestions for you on how to gain more activity as well as active members on your forum.
First suggestion- To get a logo. Every known company, business and place has a logo and so should your forum. People will remember your forum by the logo and so it is very important to remember to make an eye catching (but not flashy or too complicated) logo so those who visit your forum recognize your logo when you post on other websites or forums.
Second suggestion- Upgrade your theme. It seems really simple and plain and doesn't seem interesting or appealing at all. The colours seem very bland and not eye catching either. (Remember, not flashy or too complicated) If you're very new to being an administrator I can help you create a theme for Chat Central. It will benefit your forum to upgrade your theme because people want to spend their time on a forum that looks inviting and interesting.
Third suggestion- Create sections. I like the amount of categories that you have for Chat Central however, there is only one section so it makes your forum look empty and plain as you there isn't much to "scroll" through. You want your forum to take up more space on your main page. One section that I've thought of is "General Chatter" which would have the the categories "General Chat" "Forum Games". Another section could be "Health and Fitness" which would have "Food & Drink" and "Sport". Possibly even have a "Media and TV" which would consist of "Little Screen" "Big Screen" and global news"Global News" If you're wanting to make your forum look more professional you could replace your "Little Screen" and "Big Screen" with TV and Movies. Lastly you could put a section called "Hobby ChitChat" which would include Video Games and Music.
Last suggestion - Have at least 5-10 threads before continuing to actively promote your forum. Let's face it, your forum doesn't look active and it has barely no threads. Most would agree with me that new members tend to reply to threads at first rather than create their own (unless it's a forum promotion website) so create more content for your forum so it doesn't only look like it is more active but it also makes you look like an active administrator. The majority of people who join a forum prefer an administrator that is active and going to be a part of the forum. Think of your forum as a business, when an owner plays an active part in their business their business is more likely to succeed.
I wish you the best of luck with your forum, please don't take anything I said to offence, I am not trying to put you or your forum down in any way. I just have a lot of forum experience and wanted to share my opinion on how you can get more members and more activity on your forum.
Cheers!
