Lets all have a nice debate. 😀 I think chatrooms should be supervised more so the amount of perverts will go down and it will make it safer. I'm not saying I want them to stalk your convo's but be there if someone reports a user. I'm on a few and they don't even have a report link.

I don't think that chat rooms need to be monitored more. We're monitored enough on the internet as it is.

Monitoring them is not really the answer in my opinion. However much you monitor and moderate them, things that shouldn't happen will still happen. I think more needs to be done on teaching people how to keep safe on the internet and the dangers. People are still in the mind set that the internet is safer then the outside world when in fact it is just as dangerous if not more so.
I don't think chatrooms should be moderated. Can you imagine staff members having to sit there and read all of the crap that people talk about? Sure, there are internet sex predators, so that may be a reason for chatrooms to be moderated. Buy hey, it comes down to common sense on the other end.
Um invasion of privacy much? Seriously, people just need to know that 49% of people on omegle are camwhores with nothing better in their lives and 49% of people are trolls. The final 2% are 12 year olds who found themselves on omegle thinking it was like aim.ChatBox said:

Well you touched on a real issue in the middle of this, should webmasters be 100% responsible for what users do on their systems? My personal thinking is no, you can't sue Ford for someone crashing into you, so it makes no sense for the webmaster to be held accountable for one user taking advantage of another user on their site.
If you make a site that allows the sharing of data, and someone uploads copyrighted data they do not have the right to share, who is at fault? In general the industries tend to sue everyone involved, because they get the most profit (yes, profit from piracy) that way.
Back to the main topic, no. Chatrooms shouldn't have any type of moderation, they should be an open forum. No different than walking down the street and striking up a conversation with a stranger, there's no promise that the people around you will report actions your new 'friend' may take.

Having some idiot college student " monitor it " while he's studying isn't going to do jack-shit. It's the parents job to make sure their children aren't in chat rooms with pedophiles and perverts, not some online rent a cop.
