What would be the cheapest place to get a domain? I think godaddy is a rip-off. They mess up your accounts easily. And although you get a domain cheap for the first year, you have to pay the highest prices for the following years. Any ideas?

I like NameCheap and 1&1. Which is the best? 🙂 I'm also open to anything you say is better 😛

I've never had a problem with Godaddy in four years of using them, but besides them Namecheap is a good registrar.

Price-wise, godaddy is not at all acceptable. For example, a .com from godaddy is around $15. Namecheap is 10$ and 1&1 I'm not sure...

I see. I want to move away from godaddy however. Is there something similar for namecheap? Or 1&1?

Do you think the best offer is with godaddy?

Namecheap has coupons every month as well, but I don't know about 1&1, never used them. Godaddy is great for domains, but that's all. Apart from those two, you can also try enom.com and register.com.

Goddady is great I dont know why you had problems with them, but like justin said Namecheap is another good one.

GoDaddy is not $15...it has never gone above $12.

Thanks Justin. I'll look at them 😀

-- 08 Nov 2010, 00:10 --

Does namecheap have a better reputation?

I see. 🙂 I'm really happy to hear that! So now it's Godaddy vs. Namecheap 🙂 (Unless there's a host not mentioned here). I know that Godaddy is 7.50 a year, which Namecheap is 9.95 a year. Any way to drop down the namecheap price?

Price wise it is initially, but $2 per year more expensive after the first year. I'd say they're about even in terms of overall quality.

Initially? 7.50 for the first month? Actually, I tried adding to my cart for 3 years and that came to $22. That means it's 7.50 always 🙂
