Check List for joining a New Forum?

I'm curious to hear everyone's first steps after registering to a new forum. Do you modify your profile first? Board settings? Email & PM preferences? Or do you go immediately to posting?

I only ask this, cause it's strange to see that alot of members i see on other forum, don't have their sig in their profile ~question~

For me, this is my CheckList after registering and activating my account on ANY new forum, and in this order :

Add my Signature
Update my avatar
Turn off receiving mass emails, and emails from members
Hide email
Turn off PM notification through email or pop-up window
Change Board Preferences ( Mainly : allowing quick reply, and posting notifications, & Always attach my signature <--- some forums you have to do that)
add my website name and url under personal info

Then, from there, i make my intro topic 😉

I get use to forum first. After about 50 posts or so, I lose the laziness and add profile information.

I just use the forum, until I referrer to my signature then I quickly edit it -lol-

Wow! don't you guys get sick of getting emails like

"you have a new PM on ..." or "a reply has been made to your topic on ...."

I had to put an end to that 😀

I do have a system, lol, I could probably do with my eyes closed.

Here is what I do:
Hide e-mail from other members
Stop any notification e-mails and topic subscriptions
Make my introduction topic
Start getting to now the forum and posting
Later go on to update my signature and profile
Maybe add a display picture

- Turn off post notification
- Turn off email notification
- Hide Email from public
- Stop subscriptions
- Add signature
- Add Avatar
- Intro myself
- Post away!

Stop from any subscriptions
Join forum
add signiture promotion
add avatar
intro myself
start posting

edit my profile to how I like it
upload avatar and sig
start posting

Inlcude Sig
Put in the Stop Email Notifications or PM Notifications in place (I hate when you get emails of "so and so has sent you a PM on such and such forum Click here to find out what he said").
Introduce Myself.
Enjoy my time on the rest of the forum as much as possible.

all ways post first and then after a while if i am planning to stay i add my info

Add a signature
Edit my notification settings
Post in the introduction
Then post everywhere else.
