Check out my $300 Gaming PC Build

This looks like a pretty good computer for $300. Amazing, how affordable it is to build a computer which is the same price as a Wii U which is $299.

Yeah, PC gaming is becoming easier and easier for your average consumer to get into. Building one, especially a gaming PC, can be confusing to your average person however. Consoles are nice, as they're simple to set up and they're guaranteed to do what you want to do on them, game with no lag or problems.

That is a pretty nice build indeed, well done. 😉 :great:

Wow that's way better than the laptop I bought for 400 bucks lol :/

No sweat, laptops cost more anyways, and this build does not include a monitor/screen, keyboard, and mouse/touchpad like your laptop does.

One of the other reasons that laptop are more expensive is that buyers are paying for a brand name like Apple, Samsung, and Alienware which raise the price on their products higher because a lot of people trust their brand, and are willing to pay the high prices for it because of the brand.

I think one of the main reasons building a desktop PCs is cheaper is because there are a lot of companies who make computer parts, and the parts company like Kingston, Western Digital, MSI, ASRock, etc don't price their parts at a very expensice price where they make a higher profit like Apple or Alienware because people will most likely buy cheaper price parts from another company.

I couldn't get by with that little amount of RAM tbh.

If you honestly think that 4GB is not enough to play a good 95% of PC games out right now, you need to read up on some stuff. Now if you're trying to run a web server, edit videos, etc., that is another story.

I think web browsers using a lot of RAM in Windows is one of the reasons that many people think 4GB is not much RAM because web browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer use up a lot of RAM when many tabs are opened, or when playing Adobe flash videos and games on websites. Adobe flash uses a lot of CPU and RAM compared to HTML5 video and games.

A lot of sites also now use a lot of Javascript, ads, and other scripts which can slow down a web browsers performance.

True, but anyone with common sense should know that you should close out all other programs (or at least as many as possible) when you are playing games, especially if you are using 4 gigs of RAM or less.

Hey guys, I just released a new $400 build at http://vgnewz.com/400-gaming-pc-build/. Be sure to check it out, as in my opinion it's even better than the $300 build.

Nice, $400 dollar build. I'm surprise how affordable brand names like EVGA, Gigabyte, Crucial, Seagate and AMD has gotten where they don't cost much, so you can stay within a $400 dollar budget.

I remember in the past people had to buy brands like Rosewill, ASRock, and Zotac which are budget brand to keep their PC from going over their $500 budget.

I don't know too much about computer hardware, but these machines sure look good to me. They are priced great.

Thanks, we try to post the best builds possible so that people on budgets (like myself) have something to work from when looking to buy a gaming computer.

This is really nice build. I'm actually planning to build a PC for my brother but I have no experience with hardwares, can this $400 build have 8 gig of RAM? He's into 3D design so a bigger RAM is definitely needed. Thanks much.

You can reduce costs easily by getting a cheaper case and/or power supply. 8GB of RAM would cost around 30-40 bucks more.

Sweet. I guess I will just copy this build then. Thank you.
