I first read about this earlier when I was reading the paper.
I think it's stupid that people are trying to prevent kids from having sex. There is only so much that the parents can control, and the will and want to have sex is not what they can control. If kids want to have sex, they have every right to, regardless of age. What these people are trying to do is control free will. We don't need these abstinence programs. People will have sex when they want to, not when they're told to.
I am about to post a topic about something like this, well it is on the basis of this in the debate section. Though I hate people trying to teach us to be abstinent.
I wasn't and I became teenage father who was kicked out at 18 and had to get a job right away to put a roof over my kid's head + her mom and food in their mouth's.
I don't have any regrets though. 😎
Im just saying thats would could happen. Teenagers aren't the most careful / responsible when it comes to safe sex. Especially if you are caught up in the moment.
Abstinence is definitely the best option, but I still think that contraception should be easily accessible for teenagers. They're going to do it one way or another.
