Come my friends
And you shall hear
A beautiful tale
Of Christmas cheer

Ok, it's not a poem, but it is a (sort of) Christmas story. On Saturday, I went to my mother's house to pick something up. I noticed a big package that was delivered by FedEx, a package that did not belong to her. She did order something, but not that. She called local FedEx and they acted like they couldn't do anything about it. She was given an 800 number to call. She called three times and couldn't reach them. So she called the local FedEx again, and once again, they acted like they couldn't do anything about it, unless she took it herself to the local FedEx, which she wasn't gonna do and since FedEx was the one who made the mistake here, she shouldn't have to. Needless to say, Mom is frustrated at this point. Finally, Mom reaches the 800 number and tells what happened. The person says "Ma'am I am very sorry about this..." She says to them, "You know, I would hate for this to be this man's Christmas gift to someone, and they're not gonna get it on time." So it's finally arranged to have the package picked and and hers delivered.

Everything should be good at this point, right? Well it isn't. Mom was told to leave the package on the front porch and they will pick it up. 4 days passed. Mom's package is finally delivered, but the package that was mistakenly left at her house was still not picked up. Mom is happy to have her package, but being the woman she is, she's still upset for the man who didn't get his package yet. So I take a look at the address on the box and it turns the address is only half a mile, 3 minutes, from Mom's house. I decided to take the package to the address.

I arrive at the house. Before I could walk up the stairs, the man living there opens the door. I ask if his name is so and so. He says "yeah." I say, "Your package was delivered to my mother's address by mistake." He asked, "where?" I told him where and he says, "This whole thing has been a nightmare." He apparently was going through as much trouble with FedEx to get his package as Mom was having trouble getting them to pick it up. He then says to me, "this was supposed to be a Christmas present for someone at a Christmas party yesterday." That's exactly what Mom was afraid of. He says, "Thanks a lot for bringing it here." I say, "You're welcome. I'm just sorry you're getting it a day late." I called Mom and told her that I delivered the box. She said, "I am gonna call FedEx back and tell them about themselves!"

And that my dear friends
Is my Christmas plot
To help set things right
Since FedEx could not
