Pancreatitis - Inflammation of your pancreas. Your pancreas produced enzymes that break down your food, in order for your body to digest it. When you get pancreatitis, your pancreas becomes inflamed. The enzymes it produces in return attack it. Causing excruciating pain. It starts as acute, through the years it can turn chronic. I had my 1st bout when I was 18. It was labeled acute. I am now almost 29. I've been in and out of the hospital for it about 20 times. The past two months, it has been non stop. Landing me in the hospital trying to get pain control 5 times since thanksgiving. The hospital gives me percocet and morphine at the hospital, and sends me home with percocet. I can't live in the hospital. Has anybody had this problem before? I need to figure out how to live with the pain until I can get into a pain management clinic. (Hoping they will help me). It hurts really bad today, thus the reason I'm posting this. Reaching out for help. I need to find some home remedies that will satiate me from pain without the narcotic pain killers. The pain killers help, but, sooner or later they run out, and, wear off. Leaving me with just pain. Any help would be appreciated.
Sorry to hear that you must endure such a horrible thing! Unfortunantly, I don't know much about home remedies. Maybe putting a heat pad wherever the pain is will help?
Really hot baths tend to help minimally. I'm currently running the bath water right now. I normally take 2000MB of tylenol and lie in a hot bath for about 30 minutes. That makes it bearable for a little while. I'll do anything for at least 30 minutes of pain relief. It is also ruining my relationship. I can't get the willpower to do anything such as clean the house, nothing. It's all because moving hurts the issue more. I'm on the verge of going back to the hospital right now just because nothing else helps. I sure hope this pain management doc calls back soon. He will most likely give me an epidural monthly or something.
I can only suggest you to go see a doctor specializing in digestive system and find out the real cause of the problem. I don't think you should be staying home given the pain, and it's chronic, so unless you can handle the cause the pain treatment will not be too effective.
Well, I broke down and went back to the hospital. It was indeed pancreatitis again. They sent me home with 30 Percocets and a referral to the pain management clinic. I think I'm getting somewhere now. There seems to be light at the end of this messed up tunnel. thank you
