Dear Members,

You may have noticed that Frog Host's ads have expired on FP and we have inserted ClickBank ads in their place. Hopefully the banner will display ads for products and services that are of interest to our members and visitors.

The ads look fine and are a nice replacement, and before people start crying about the new adverts, this is good for FP as it means the forum has a source of income to keep paying for the hosting and domain name. 🙂

Indeed the few Ads I have seen so far have been about SEO etc. Great work.

Thanks everyone glad you like them. Clickbank lets you select the keywords for the ads you display. I've selected "SEO" and "Making Money Online", for the moment.

A bit off topic, but I heard that the keyword "digital products" is doing well on Clickbank at the moment. 😛

It seemed a little "confronting" at first, but it's a good idea that they are related to this forum.

I think it was "confronting" due to the color comparison and contrast with the white and the blue background.

Ads blocked.

I miss the frog.

Tayne did nothing wrong in blocking the ad, He has every right to do so, Blocking the advert is a good solution to the few that don't like seeing the ad 🙂

Doesn't make a difference to me, I wouldn't click them anyway. Makes the forum faster and looks better.

Although I didn't block the ad, I have noticed a small decline in FP's speed.

However it's not fair to Fergal, the owner. This guy comes along, uses up his bandwidth etc on 4,000+ posts, then can't even view an advert?

Totally disgraceful if you ask me.

I did prefer the FrogHost advert to be honest, I liked the green and I think the new adverts need to have their colour changed to match the top banner to be honest.

Some adverts though aren't exactly age appropriate 😛

I think you need to understand FP's history. For most of it, it was ad-free. I think it was just this year, we saw an ad being put up to cover costs. For many, it was a shock as FP was a fairly active forum with major ad spots not being utilized. I think it's best if you understand why people respond in such a manner.

Exactly David, There was a lot of drama when the last advert was added, which is why we'd rather people simply block the advert, rather than start being dramatic or complaining about it, however we're always open to constructive criticism over the advert.

I'd suggest making the background transparent, if it's possible, and then making the font white, so it'll blend into header. Overall, they're no more different than that frog ad, and we will all get used the ads soon. 🙂

Still, will one advert have a amazingly large impact on this forum?

So far I've noticed no speed changes or anything, one advert is fine. If there was various adverts placed all around the forum, I'd be able to understand, but there isn't.

He just joined a week ago.

That being said, there are actually some interesting links from the ads. Though I'd like to know why he decided to go with ClickBank rather than any other ad network.

The new ads don't bother me because it is block. 🙂

Edit: I unblock the ads and some of the text are getting cut off.

I actually liked the FrogHost advert, to be honest I really liked the dark green colours  I think changing the colours to suit the top would be fine. Also if people block the advert, it doesn't matter because blocking is the same as not blocking but never looking and clicking them.
