What's your stance on cliquey forums, and how would you deal with them on your blogs or forums?
I think that a small clique can't hurt a good forum, but I've seen them expand over time, and many veteran members have had to get up and leave. I also don't like cliquey forums for being very militant towards new members. For example, if someone posts a thread, someone from that clique will give them a "lecture" on using the forum's search function. While it can be annoying to see duplicate threads about the same subject, all it takes is a moderator to merge the threads. No need to turn away prospective members.
