Closing forum & starting a blog

Will it be a wise choice in closing a current forum and moving to blog. Just want a opinion on it..

If the forum didn't work well or ran out of ideas. Will this be a good move.??

I tried this, once. But I didn't know why, people's interest in making blog entries and comments declined pretty much compared to when it was still on forums. Perhaps the interaction is not as fun as in the forum? That's what I thought if I were a member/visitor and had to see a forum changed into a blog. Others may be different. 😉

I'm the same way. You can't really interact like you can on a forum. 🙂

Mine is a general chat forum. Just a thought came across my mind so just want to hear from the experts.

I don't really think thats a good idea because, in my opinion, you have to stick with one project at a time.

You just need new ideas, make it unique and spend some money in SEO and other place etc and you can succeed.

Well it depends, forums generally take time to grow. With blogging, you must remember that your content must be unique in order for you to be successful. If constantly writing unique content isn't for you then it is not a good move. However, you can run a half blog half forum sort of thing. Run a blog aswell as a discussion forum on the niche of your blog. 🙂

Depends. The key is making a smooth transition. I've never owned a blog, so i wouldn't know very much. But as long as it works out!

I guess if you are passionate about the topic, then blogging can be ideal. I know for myself I wasn't as into the topic at hand as I thought I was, which resulted in very few blog entries.

I thought of writing tech news in my blog, but now i don't. Anyway i will writing the same content of some other site which won't be unique. So thought of sticking with the forum, as i don't have much knowledge with writing unique articles.
