First Impressions & Appearance – (15 out of 20)
After taking my first few moments viewing CMT Sports Forum, I found myself amused by the color scheme of the website. A nice dark blue with silver & white to back it up. A perfect mixture for a theme and then comes the banner. A nice translucent background on the image to make it fit perfectly with any background, the light text on the dark blue makes it stick out more and the images used in the banner fit perfectly with it being a sport related forum. One thing that got to me through was the usergroup colors on the light background, the group colors seem faded and hard to read on light surfaces, I would have to say you might want to take a look at that and see if you can't get those colors darker to make them stick out a bit more. The forum is also very well organized and there is a good balance of forums in each category. Overall, the site has a lot of potential and I don't see much wrong with first impressions. So with that, lets move onto the next review category, your site layout.
Site Layout – (16 out of 20)
Looking at your site layout, the site has a good balance of forums per category. You have 3 categories, 2 of which only have 3 forums and the 3rd category has all the sports ones. This is a fairly straight forward layout which isn't a bad thing. Seeing as how your site doesn't provide any services other then just the basic sports chat, there is no need for more then 3 categories. You have your basic site info, your sport section and a general off topic area for members to relax and talk about other stuff which is perfectly fine. Overall, I think your site has a great layout and is very well organized to keep the professional look. Lets move onto the Statistics and Activity of your forum.
Statistics and Activity – (12 out of 20)
Looking at your site activity, seeing as how you are the only active member in the past 48 hours, that is not going to help your site grow. You should have some more of your members and even some of your staff active, especially when you have had 0 registered users in the past 48 hours be online other then yourself. You should try doing some more stuff to keep your members active and give them a reason to stay active. Members are the life blood of each website and when none are active, then the forum dies quickly. Some ideas, just run a contest or something that would spark their interest and get them back into posting on the website. Another idea you can try is add a sports blog to post articles about all the new and trending sports news about sports teams and such. This will give your site more recognition and it would give you more viewers and would also give the community something else to talk about. Overall, I would have to say your activity is really lacking but your site stats are very good for your site age! I would just highly recommend getting some more members active to make your site a bigger success. Lets move onto the content of your site!
Content – (14 out of 20)
Looking at the content of your website, I would say it is by far the best part about your forum. You have 7810 posts, 1726 topics, and 209 members. For your site being just over 1 year old, this is good progress for a sports genre forum. But as I mentioned above, your activity is extremely lacking, you would have a much higher content count if you had more active members posting daily, if not every few days. This way your content continues to grow and the site will benefit more in the long run. Even if you had 1 member make 1 post every day, that is better then 0 posts really. Your content is doing very well but it could be much higher if you had more of an active user base. So overall, your content is doing very great for your forum but there are several factors that could make your content and stats be better. So I would just recommend taking a look into getting more people active to get a few more posts every now and then. Lets move onto the final part of this review, your spelling/grammar and professionalism of your forum.
Spelling/Grammar & Professionalism – (17 out of 20)
By far, CMT Sports Forum is one of the most professional sports forums that I have visited by far. The organization and theme of the forum is by far what makes the site very professional but the spelling and grammar top it off. Your site is very professional due to the proper grammar and proper spelling in not only the topic titles but also the actual posts. The theme is another big deal when it comes to professional sites. The only thing that is holding your score down is the activity of the site. If you can get your staff to be more active and get your members more active, your site will look a lot more professional, because nothing drives visitors away when they come onto a professional looking site but the only person active is the owner. Not a lot of people enjoy that. But overall, your site has good professionalism and wonderful if not perfect spelling & grammar. So lets wrap up this review with my final remarks.
Total Score - (74 out of 100)
Final Remarks:
So lets finish up this review with my final thoughts on CMT Sports Forum. Your forum is a very nice looking forum in my eyes, it has great potential to grow into a very popular and successful forum but the main thing holding your site back is the activity. You need to get your members active, which means if you need to tweet our your link or post it on facebook or ask others for help with promoting, don't be afraid to ask them to help. They are here to help. So ask them for help if you need it. Overall, your site was a great site to get to review and I hope you enjoyed this review.
