COD 4 controls?

Hey,

I got Call of Duty 4 today for my PC. I have played it before at my friends house on his xBox, so I get the general idea and feel of the game. However, I am having issues on PC.

I set my controls to
Moving: (left, left arrow. up, up arrow. ect. C, crouch. Space, jump, stand. Shift, sprint.)

Shooting: (R, reload. Left click, shoot. Right click, zoom)

I really am bad at both game mode and online mode. I know on online I could be playing some guy who plays it 24 7 who is a pro but I am on beginner on the game mode.

Are my controls too far apart or something? (I am on a laptop)

That's a fairly standard setup for moving and shooting. For the reload, try a button closer to the arrow keys. You can always buy a PC controller to if you play a lot.

Try using WASD as the move contols. That way your hands are spread out. (Left for moving, right for shooting) Reloading and other controls will be near your left hand.

I was going to say that.

That's what I used for Combat Arms and it worked great.

Default controls should be

W - Forward
A - Strafe left
S - Backwards
D - Strafe right
Shift - Sprint
Cntrl - Crouch
Z - Prone (Although I use Z + X, sometimes I miss the Z)
R - Reload
F - Interact

And the rest is really up to you.

I use that. Thats the best! I have gotten at least 20 kills a game with that.

I range 25 to 40 kills with that setup

Try the basic controls for other basic first person shooter, WASD to move, r to reload, left mouse to click, shift to sprint, and right to zoom in, and ENTER for chat if CoD4 has it. As of the rest is to you, basically.
