Code Forum has recently surpassed 5000+ registered members and is looking for talented individuals to join our staff team to help shape our community. We are at a stage in our growth that we need to expand our staff team. With the expansion of our staff team, we plan to bring a great number of new features, events and activities to Code Forum.
Note: Although coding experience is an asset, all are welcome to apply.
Guardian
Two-position(s) available
As part of the Guardian Team, you will assume multiple different roles – Moderating the community, hosting community events, helping members around the community and greeting new members in the introduction’s forum. However, we also expect you to learn something as well. We encourage you to ask questions, get help, be a positive influencer in the community.
Flexible hours
Aim for at least 4 hours per week.
Or 1 day a week with approval.
Qualifications
Registered member of the community.
Can work under pressure.
Should be able to read & write in English.
Should have an idea of what coding is.
Should be able to explain what coding is;
Should be able to tell us who can code;
Should have examples of their coding projects.
Must be willing to adapt to new changes and are able to thrive on those changes.
Responsibilities
Always keep the best interest of Code Forum first in mind. While ensuring you are learning something from this position.
Leave no thread untouched, even if the answer is not known. Make an effort to help.
Ensure that all members are obeying the Code of Conduct.
Create a fun welcoming environment for all.
Monitor the "what’s new" tab for threads with 0 replies.
Review new threads and replies to ensure following rules.
Approve/Reject queued thread/posts.
Ensure threads are posted in the correct location. May need to move threads to different locations.
Editing posts to remove inappropriate links or comments.
Lock threads, delete threads or posts if violating rules.
Send warnings to members who are violating rules.
Handle any reports received from members (can be requested through the report function on posts and users).
Communicating on Slack.
Assets:
Willing to use Slack, Discord or email if provided (Internal communication).
As part of the Onboarding Team, you will assume the greeter role. You'll welcome new users and assist them with setting up their account, replying to their welcome thread and addressing any questions they may have about Code Forum.

Aim for at least 30mins to 1 hour a day.
Or 1 day a week with approval.

As a Social Media poster (within the Marketing Team), you will plan and create posts on our various social media accounts (Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram, etc). Engaging our audience, bringing light to unanswered threads on Code Forum to social media platforms.

Or 1 day a week with approval.
Qualifications
Registered member of the community.

Must have some knowledge of using Business tools on various platforms, Facebook Business Suite (Instagram & Facebook), LinkedIn etc.

Create a social media plan and deliver it to the administration.
Graphic Designer
One-position(s) available
As a Graphic Designer (within the Marketing Team), you will create various graphics depending on Marketing or business needs.
Flexible hours
Be available when graphics are needed (24-48 hours)
Qualifications
Registered member of the community.
Must be willing to adapt to new changes and are able to thrive on those changes.
Must be willing to use Slack.
Be able to use graphic design software such Adobe, Afinnity products etc.
A portfolio will be required.
Responsibilities
Creating new graphics for various areas, icons, social media etc.
Communicating on Slack.
Create templates.
Docs Writer
One-position(s) available
As a Docs Writer, you will create various docs in our help centre to assist members in using Code Forum's platform.
Flexible hours
Be available when docs are needed (at least 1 day a week).
Qualifications
Registered member of the community.
Must be willing to adapt to new changes and thrive on those changes.
You must be willing to use Slack.
Be an experienced writer (technical is considered an asset). Must be able to provide samples.
A portfolio will be required.
Responsibilities
Write documents, instructions and guides to help Code Forum users use the platform.
Communicating on Slack.
Create writing templates to help standardize writing at Code Forum.
