Have any of you used Codecademy (https://www.codecademy.com)? It's a free site that has a variety of programming and coding classes.... Git, HTML, and How to Build Your Own Website for example. There's many more, that's just a sampling.

I've actually tried this out and it was really fun. I couldn't sick to it, though.

It is a fun site to visit.

A lot of useful stuff can be found there and i have used it many times myself.

I love it!!! Very good site, made a beginner like me become something more! 🙂

I often learn and buy coding course in Udemy, Coursera. Both of them have a variety of coding courses (including lecture, practical lessons, examples,..). I will see the website you have just suggested. Thank you so much 😉

I love Code Academy. It's free and easy to follow. I've been coding for many years. Some of what I know was taught to me by doing random searches on google to figure out how to accomplish what I set out to do. Some of it came from Treehouse. But, when I was having issues with JavaScript, I was directed to Code Academy and it helped me a great deal. I do recommend it for beginners.

I have done a few courses on Code Academy. Overall it is a pretty decent website to learn how to code. However, it is quite basic and don't go into detail so it is a good resource for beginners but it won't bring you very far. However, it is a very good starting point and most importantly it is free (or at least some courses are free). I only really done the HTML, CSS and part of the PHP course so my comments are only based on doing those. I will explore Code Academy a bit further when I have time.

There are some better alternatives in my opinion. One I looked at recently is VTC.

I used it when I first started web development. It's really only for beginners. If you plan on going into software development (or engineering) then you will need to take some college level courses. I didn't think you need to take any college level courses for any sort of development but after a few classes, learning new languages and development useful / efficient code in those languages are now much easier than before.

When I tried it, it seemed more gamey than serious. Maybe I'll give it another try
