Last night, I was speaking to an old friend via Skype. He gave me an awesome idea and I'm seriously considering it.
If I can find the time, how many of you would pay for HTML and/or CSS, PHP, graphics design, web design one-on-one lessons, one hour a day, and how much?
The lesson would be hosted on Skype and I'd be happy to answer any questions.
I'm all ears, I want to know what everyone thinks,
- Terry 🙂
It's great idea! and I would love to learn PHP , though I haven't got any money as of now! But still I really think its a good idea!
$5/day would be appropriate!
what I mean is there are tons of tutorials online for graphics as you know it and there is no site better than w3schools for learning webdesigning languages.
and all this stuff is there for free so unless you have something unique and special for offer people might not like to pay bucks for it.
I like the idea Terry. I'd be happy to pay for one to one mentoring when say learning a new coding language. I wouldn't want someone to just give me a lecture, I'd like them to answer questions I have and to point me in the right direction as regards to what I should be learning next and how I can go about learning it.
You might get some ideas from what they are doing over at LivePerson - http://www.liveperson.com/experts. Perhaps you may even sign up and offer your services there.
I think this is a good idea...although I might be more interested in 'hiring' you to do a particular job. Like someone else mentioned there are free tutorials out there on coding. Graphics seem to also require software some of us might not have or want to pay for. But I like the concept of a 1 on 1 sit down on Skype. Although not really sure what you should charge...its your time! 😉
If you go for a 'charge for item' type of method...maybe you can offer a free consultation via Skype for 10 mins or so to see what someone wants and then name your price depending on how much time and effort it would take...and if its a simple matter of coding properly maybe offer to sit with them for an hour and 'build' whatever it is together?
Anyway, Terry while I personally don't pay for things like that, you seem to be a talented guy who knows what he's talking about so I can definitely see new coders coming to you for help.
