Do you work with anyone else when you code? I'll work with a developer if there is one or sometimes another admin etc. I do like working with someone else when I'm coding so they can help me if I can't solve something.
I don't program all that much, however my friend who programs mainly works alone, it's one of those where you either do it the right way or you don't do it at all kind of thing, you know? So he doesn't really program with more than only himself, he' actually quicker at programming when he's doing it himself so whatever works.
I usually work alone. But that's mainly because I have no idea who or where to go to find people to really help me with projects I'm interested in. And I don't really know anyone else who's skilled at coding to really talk about it with either. (Most places I've been kinda cap off at the HTML level. Which doesn't help me when I want to ask questions about PHP projects.)
Coding is best done alone, in my opinion. If a project is big enough that it needs multiple people, then the multiple people should probably work on different parts of the code. Otherwise, you run into conflicts when editing files that have to be resolved, and that can be pretty painful.
I can sort of see how it could be a multiple person thing... I mean if someone runs into a wall and needs to bounce ideas off another. That's where having another person to talk to could really help.
I mean I have ideas for things, but I'm stuck on them at a conceptual level. (I can't figure out how I want to approach them that would be easiest/most realistic to do what I want done.)
I do now. Until recently, I use to do everything on my own. Now, I work with two other individuals reaching amazing goals. We've taken ProBoards to a whole new level in the last few months and we're currently working on something huge.
