Alright, i give in. i admit we need some advice in the least, and i apologize for typos in advance.

We, RPG Maker Collective ( http://www.rmcollective.com/ ), are a RPG Maker VX support site that started almost a year ago. We were a part of a rather large and popular RMVX site that is not exactly nice to its members, nor does it care for them. (i know your proly saying thats just our opinions, but we have friends on the staff, some of us were staff, and have talked to the admins themselves. Anyway... i wont go into details) We came together as a like minded group, sick of the crap being pulled on the other site, and after some time, decided to make our own.

Now, when it comes to the RMVX community, we arent nobodies, but rather the opposite, some of us are the most popular and skilled people, so when i say we started out well, we did. We built the forum around friendship and courtesy for the fellow member, had a great amount of resources for members to use, and many cool features that took off with a bang.

The site ran well for quite a while, but then, around the 500 member mark, near the end of summer, things crashed rather quickly. I assume it was due school starting and a few influential members having irl issues that didnt allow them to be active. And so, a domino effect occured. When people see inactivity, they tend to be inactive themselves.

For the last few months the forum has been all but dead, in posting at least. there are still 80-100 individual members visiting the site weekly, but only a few posts day.

We have tried nearly everything, from contest to Secret Santa swaps, to advertising and affiliation. We even have had a mystery project going around that is keeping the few members we have intrigued, which deals with our upcoming large change for the forum, including forum style and community features and upgrades, which we also hope will greatly help revive the forum.

Sorry it got a bit long there, but i think i covered all the background and facts, but the deal is, were passionate and doing everything we can to keep it going... what else can we do? What are we missing? Any advice is welcome.

Edit: I forgot to say, a few members have returned recently, but only a handfull.

-- 19 Dec 2010, 00:43 --

:/ no one at all?
