Colocation America

Recently, I have seen several IPs crawling my forum all to do with a company called Colocation America. From research I had undertaken, they are a server hosting and colocation company and also did further analysis of why its crawling my forum so often... for market research and SEO/content strategy, which I found strange for a hosting company to do...

I should also note that this happened minutes after I promoted one of threads of my forum to its official Mastodon account, so maybe it's coincidental, I don't know...

Just want people's input in this...

Colocation America is a datacenter that you can, well, colocate your own server to (they will host it, but you pay for it to be there).

There is probably a service that is scanning all new threads/posts with URLs, and hence why you got scanned by this crawler to see if it's legit, scam, or etc.

Well, since my last post, they've not come back... and I even emailed the company themselves about it (but so far got no response, though did get an email acknowledging my request).
