If you want an easy way to pick a color and you don't have a software like photoshop installed on your computer, then there is an easy and convenient solution.
Using an online tool you can choose between HSL, Hex, RGB and also the luminosity.

Thanks for sharing this is helpful! I will use this for my community staff groups colors

I have photoshop myself, but still, that's nice of you to share. Thanks.

I figured it's worth mentioning this add-on for firefox and chrome

http://www.colorzilla.com/

You can color pick any page you want except local pages. It also has a quick link to Colorzilla's css gradient generator. I find it super useful and I highly recommend it.

Thanks for sharing. I will definitely be using this. 🙂

it is better to have a program called Pixie the size of it is 11kb for the portable application or 8.9 for the zip. so you can pop it onto either a phone or a thumbdrive and not use very much space and is usefvul when you don't have access to the net. you can find it here >>> http://www.nattyware.com/pixie.php

This software you gave has totally different purpose.
The purpose of the online tool I gave is only to pick colors from the colors rectangle.

if you know how to use it you can use to get hex or color or you can use it's built in color picker, and if memory serves me right the program you shared the link was removed by the staff.

Not sure if this is what you mean but this is the best tool I've seen for colors, picking or whatever and it's free.

Yes but it is too complicated for me...
Most of the time I only need the RGB or Hex values for a specific color, and this is what this tool provides.
