I just noticed the Comments on profiles thing, how long has that been here for?

More importantly, my forum runs phpBB and I always wanted something like this for my forum, is it a mod for phpBB?

If my forum has multiple themes I assume I would have to do style edits to each theme to get it to work on all of them?

Yes unless your style use template inheritance
