Compact Menu on the homepage

I have entered sites that have a scattered menu. When you click on the homepage menu, the second page will present another list of functions and another click will bring you to a third page where the details are displayed. I don’t really know how it is called but definitely it is a turn off to the user. Having a compact menu on the homepage is convenient for the user - when the majority of functions can be clicked on the homepage without the need to go to a sub-menu on the next page.

There are still sites that has such menus? I really dont think so 🙁
