The idea is is that i get alot of people entering (thus a more active forum) and people get rewarded.
I get cash through my site anyway, so all i'm doing is recycling technically.

I'm not actually making a loss.

Not really. It's a monthly competition, but repeated for each month. Heaps of forums do this.
