My initial reaction was to stare at the map and figure it out. Then when I saw a speech bubble, then it started to get interesting.. I think.
A shoutbox there which mostly always gets me to dislike the forum. It would have been excusable if you placed it on an additional page other than your portal and called it a guestbook. But, it's smack on your portal...
The format is stretched out due to your flash props.
But aside from all those, I think your board style is good.

When I said board style is good. I think I spoke a little too soon. The cramped spaces. 1 - 2 forums and another section. So many flashes of Red that it's become a distraction. You either need
A] Better Grouping
B] Better Styles
Moderation/Administration: 6/10
Your forum is well moderated. General Discussions however is sans that.
I also look toward how the administrator addresses his members. Professionally and Direct.
I look at the announcements and I do see the direct and brief approach. But it doesn't seem to be drilling any of it into the members heads. Nor does it seem controllable. Any consequences? Enforcement? The no swearing rule seems quite unavoidable, I suggest making use of word censors instead.
Accessibility (features available & how many different topics are available): 4/10
Books, and sports gets their own section. But music doesn't. And music is in General Discussion. It's very inconsistent. When i said "Better grouping" back there, I think you should go for that instead.
The Sport section is good, but it's way too broad. It's best to drag it into General Discussions and name it "Sports", same goes for "Books".
Activity: 5/10
Actvity is alright. It's starting out good. Although 6 members without any posts is a bad thing... It's a common thing for most forums.
Overall mark (out of 100): 54%
A little bit below average. Make use of additional pages to organize your flash goodies, unless it's a welcome intro.
Fix your sections and plan things out carefully.
