I am coping and pasting this since this is along thread took me about 30 minutes 🙂

Hey,

I have a Toshiba satellite L750D.

I was on my laptop last night and it was booting up fine, i then took it to work so the technician there could have a look at it, But he said bring it back friday which i did since he was had a busy day I took it home when school (yr11) was over, Now im wondering if anything could have been bump but i dont recall bumping anything at all since it was inside a bag.

A few nights before this i charged my laptop but for some reason the charger stopped working and so did a few other chargers that where plugged in the same switch system (phones,1 other laptop charger) So i thought it could have been a serch that went threw the chargers (may be spelled wrong)

Since it was connected to the laptop at this time, is it possible that the serge could be another possible doubt that could have caused damage to the laptop or some parts??

The issue is that the when i boot it up i can ear the HDD (External Hard Disk) Booting up finely But the fan, keyboard and screen is not working I had a spear asus charger and it seems to charge fine because i can see the charge light, I have also taken the ram out and it beeps fine. So i dont think it would be the motherboard since the laptop is only 4 months old.

Could this be the mobo or powerbox?

Please reply

Thanks this frustrating

Try connecting to to an external monitor. It sounds like the graphics card has went out or the inverter.

I had the same problem, took it to local computer repair shop and they said it was the graphics card went out because it got hot or something. It needed some soldering and it work. Cost me 25 dollars.

Ok the fan appears to be going again and it seems to be booting up finely that sounds promising so far 🙂

At the moment it sounds like the graphics card becuase theres not screen at all or it doesn't seem like theres power going threw it at all.

PS: Ive tried an external monitor and that done the same thing so possibly a lose wire or graphics card.

The graphics card is bad then.

4 months and the graphics card is gone, I'm not sure on the specs and quality of that laptop but it doesn't sound good!

Apparently that laptop was ment for web design and businesses his a picture on what it looks like (find this on google)

http://www.notebookcheck.net/uploads/tx ... -1q_01.jpg (it is 3x bigger then this but thats the style)

Anyway i graphics card is hooked up inside the motherboard so would it be possible to solder it off and replace the graphics card?

It is possible, but there is no guarantee it will work. If you really want to go that route, try a reflow first.

Yes but i dropped it and a few days later the graphics stopped working so the warranty is not covered by this.

Im going to get a technician todo this soldering seems complex. I will take a picture and add it here in a few hours.

This is going to cost alot almost $200 to replace the motherboard maybe more.

It had to tell with no screen but with i can see it booting up finely the CD-ROM is working & when i take the ram out its beeping so all that tells me that its booting up but the screen is no functioning nether will a external monitor

-- 30 Apr 2012, 08:43 --

Hopefully it hasnt if thats the case sorted out the video

i may aswill get a new motherboard becuase the video is soldered onto the mobo itself.

When i take the ram out i heard the normal beeping sound that if it was working It beeps 2 times per secound and stops around the 6th secound which is normal and they are short versus one/two per second.

And i think the video card is still working I opened the computer up and play around with the display cable and a few times i saw a quick flash on the screen which tells me the cable must of shorted out.
