Hey guys, currently I have a crappy old monitor that I have been using for years but ive been thinking about buying a new computer monitor. Where should I buy it and do you have any suggestions on which monitor to buy?

It depends on your budget mate and what you would be using it for.

Budget, uses, etc. For me, around $200, and I browse, read, type, casually game, use Netflix.

Samsung was suggested above. ASUS also makes decent monitors. You can search Newegg.com and sort for price, rating, etc. My first LCD monitor was an ACER AL2002W, which gave out (no picture) after a year, but the ASUS VW246H has been working without problem for years. This monitor was a 'customer choice' and had 5/5 from 1,698 reviews. It is no longer sold, but other ASUS monitors comparable in price and also holding decent ratings include VE248H http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824236102 and VH238H http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824236117.

eBay, Amazon, and Craigslist could be good places to buy monitors for cheaper prices because of more selection, and sellers.

I use an NEC LCD monitor since 2007, and it still works. I also own an old Viewsonic CRT Tube monitor which still works after many years.
