Computer Problem

Well at the moment and for a while I've had this problem on my computer which means that I can't use Firefox or Windows Live. What happens is I try and click on them, it loads up but when I click on it to use it, it doesn't work. However it does show the title of the site I am visiting in the blue bit at the top... but it doesn't actually open the programs. It is responsive though and I get no ''Not responding'' messages.

Sorry it's really hard to explain... but any possible fixes?

Have you tried reinstalling the programs in question?

Yep, tried it before and it hasn't worked.

Did you do anything just before these problems started like any updates? It could be a case of just thinking back and thinking what you did around the days it started.

Not really, I didn't change anything, it just randomly started happening.

I would first run a antivirus, then if no viruses appear, contact FireFox support, I am a FireFox support member, but I am not to the skill point yet, but I do think in all actuality that it is a virus

I did a virus scan before and no viruses were detected.

Did you do anything just before these problems started like any updates? It could be a case of just thinking back and thinking what you did around the days it started.

Anyway, just try alternatives to them, like Firefox acts up, I download and install Chrome, then Firefox works :lol:

Come to think of it, are you up to date with the XP service packs?

Why not backup the whole system and if system restore stuffs up you can restore your computer backup

You can easily reverse a system restore. I have done many system restores over my lifetime (i have a habit of touching things i shouldn't) and it has never caused me any problems. It usually fixes the problems though.

I also have your habit, the funny thing is when I use my dad's comp it stuffs up, but my never does :lol: :rofl:

I am always messing up mine. I have already done 2 system restores since getting my new laptop a month or so ago 😱

I am considering reinstalling Windows altogether because my computer is slow and useless atm. 😛
