I'm big into recycling, reducing, reusing. We have a local place that takes all electronics, appliances & refurbishes them. They recycle the rest as applicable. They help create jobs as well. There's always a place that would take them. May have to do deep searching tho to find those places & also willing to spend some money to ship them.
I have taken old parts to a location where they can reuse them again in other parts and melt them down 😉 I myself have old tech laying around still that still works. End of the day where I'm at there is no right and a good place to trash them other than the tip. Most PC store won't take them anymore.
I’ll mostly save HDDs or GPUs and power supplies for a latter use. Mostly just recycle cases, motherboards and sometimes other components dependent on if I know if I may need it later as a backup or not.
I keep everything. Aside from the fact that I am far too privacy-conscious to trust anyone with my electronic equipment, I enjoy re-purposing old systems for various projects. I rent two storage units, and one is nearly floor to ceiling with computer equipment.
Yes I do. The Vermont E-Cycles program provides FREE and convenient recycling of computers, monitors, televisions, printers and computer peripherals to residents, charities, school districts, and small businesses.
