Hi everyone,
I have just created a companion forum to my website http://www.almostfreepc.com. It is http://www.almostfreepc.freeforums.org. It is a computer tips and tricks forum that provides free help. I know there are a million tech forums out there but I am trying to create a tight-knit friendly place where people can go to have their most difficult questions answered. Very often I go to forums and see people who post a question...and no one ever answers it. I want to create a place where that almost never happens and where people care. It might be a little idealistic, but I know as the administrator, I am going to keep on top of it.
A good example of the type of issues I would love to see: about 2 years ago I was attempting to install WinFLP on a computer without a cd-rom. If you have never heard of it, it is Windows Fundamentals, a Windows XP derivative that was specially stripped down by Microsoft to work on older systems with really low specs. It took me over a year to find the answer to my question. I want to make Almost Free PC forums the place to instantly find unique and obscure answers that would normally be on page 20 of Google search.
