Confusion on Lorem Ipsum?

Okay. How many of you get confused when you see Lorem Ipsum text on forums? Here is an example.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Integer ac neque quis massa rhoncus hendrerit ut et nisl. Vestibulum velit est, mollis id placerat a, imperdiet sit amet massa. Phasellus vel felis lorem. Donec elit felis, molestie quis sollicitudin sit amet, aliquam sagittis diam. Duis augue neque, eleifend ut vehicula quis, semper sit amet arcu. Fusce tellus purus, imperdiet tristique tristique vel, consequat vitae nisl. Phasellus lobortis felis nec tellus commodo vitae fringilla risus consectetur. Curabitur lacinia accumsan libero, at pulvinar purus aliquet a. Donec feugiat rhoncus dui vel luctus. Vivamus in odio dolor.

No no! When you see it you are not in a forum or site that has a different language. It is in fact placeholder text.

I never get confused. I use it all the time during web design so I guess it's another language to me 😛

Well maybe to us who design it is not confusing but to the person who knows nothing about designing they might think different.

Today it's used mainly as a text placeholder, and to give site designers and idea what a page of text will look like, that's all it is really.

What's confusing? It just saves you time. 😛

Based on latin but it's not correct latin.

It's more for users to not pay attention to it, instead with saying BLAH BLAH BLAH would distract from the design :great:

I always wondered what Lorem Ipsum etc. etc. mean. I assumed it was Latin of some kind. I always wondered where that came from 😀

I didn't learn about Lorem Ipsum until my design classes in college. Sure could have had some fun in high school with it. 😛
